TONY KELLY
Tony Kelly is an actor, comedian and writer with a wide range of experience both on and off stage and screen. His debut comedy album “PS I Hate You” was released in 2012 and Tony has performed as a stand up comedian all over the US, Canada and Europe.
Tony began his hosting career as an MC at the world famous Gotham Comedy Club in New York City and has hosted multiple events on both sides of the Atlantic such as “The New York New Works Theatre Festival” on Broadway, Power Promotions’ “Ring Kings” and “Dart Kings”, The 2014 Irish Actors Guide Awards and is the co-host of Over The Top Wrestling’s on demand pay per view service. Tony also has been a regular contributor on TV3’s Seven O Clock Show and for Balls.ie.
As an actor, Tony has recently starred in the feature film “Writing Home” which he played the lead role of Daniel Doran, Guest Starred on ITV/BBC America’s Primeval and played the main character of Gar Campion in his own multi award winning web series “The Hurler”.
Tony has won several awards both as an actor, writer and producer including Best Actor in a Leading role in both feature film and web series at the IndieFest Film Awards in California for Writing Home and The Hurler and was awarded Best Actor in a Comedy Series at the prestigious LA WebFest at Universal Studios, Hollywood. “The Hurler” was also awarded “Best Irish Series” and The Audience Award at Dublin Webfest in 2016.
Most recently Tony has written, directed and voiced multiple characters in the 10 part radio comedy series “Busy Tonight?” which was funded by the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland and will release his first documentary film “Plastic Paddy” later this year, which he both wrote and directed.
Tony studied Screenwriting at the New York Film Academy and was awarded the Brett Ratner Scholarship Grant to attend the school in 2009. Other training includes improve at Second City in Toronto, Acting with Kirk Baltz and Radio Presenting and Production with the Today FM school of radio.
